147 million euro for Energy Investment Allowance (EIA) with LED lighting in 2019

In 2019 there is again 147 million euros available for entrepreneurs who invest in energy efficient technologies, such as LED lighting, through the Energy Investment Allowance (EIA).

The Energy List 2018 contains techniques which can deduct up to 47 percent of the investment. Earlier it was announced that the EIA from January 1, 2019 would be reduced from 54.5% to 45%.

A big change this year in the Energy List involves the addition of a whole new chapter focused on energy. Within this chapter, the government encourages electrification and use of hydrogen. For example, to produce the local hydrogen by electrolysis, after which the hydrogen is mixed with natural gas. This will help reduce the use of natural gas. In addition, the EIA promotes the capture and storage of CO2.

Another notable change in the built environment is the separate eye of heat using a halogen-free refrigerant. Techniques that are not on the Energy List, can still be suscribed to the EIA under a generic code. The technique is then tested for energy-saving.

For lighting, the following are on the Energy List:

  • Saving for lighting: the maximum investment eligible for EIA is 150 euros per sensor.
  • LED lighting: the maximum investment eligible for EIA is 25 per 1000 lumens generated by the armature flux.
  • LED lighting system: Only the spot and / or floodlight fixtures and driver are eligible.
  • LED tube system: the maximum investment eligible for EIA is 20 euros per LED tube.
