Mandatory LED lighting for businesses from 1 July 2020

The government has agreed on a proposal by the party GroenLinks. This means that, on 1 July 2020, it is mandatory for all the companies in the Netherlands to switch to LED lighting. According to GroenLinks, this proposal leads to a significant reduction in CO2 emissions.

The goal is to halve greenhouse gas emissions in the Netherlands in 2030 compared to 1990. The transition to sustainable LED lighting plays an important role.

LED LIGHTING FOR COMPANIES

As a business, switching to LED lighting is not only beneficial to the environment. For the company itself, this will provide substantial savings on energy costs. This is because LED lights are more energy efficient than incandescent or halogen bulbs. Also the long lifespan of LED lighting provides costs savings.
